We *always* turn dynamic relink off.
Occasionally we have to turn it on to force a relink when media drops offline (eg XTAccess rebooted during transfer - media transferred but masterclip only linked to video).
Always change settings to ‘keep existing’ and ‘highest quality’
Usually that is fine.
Yesterday I had to use it in this manner, turned on for just a few seconds, then off again.
However I later opened a sequence that had one unrelated master clip that had linked to completely different source media.
This master clip was a copy (named Clip_Stereo & modified so that the audio tracks were stereo) the original master clip (Clip_mono) had retained the link to the correct source media. Both these clips have the same tape/start/end). The incorrectly linked media has a different tape & end (they have same start of 10;00;00;00)
The only answer I’m looking for here is how does dynamic relink link? Because it can’t be tape/start alone.
