Hello everybody,
We have more than 10,000 items to remove from our Avid Archive connect in FrontPorch.
Someone knows if it is possible to import a list of elements in the Archive Engine from Access or other app ?
Or any other method or command that can prevent us from entering each item one by one in Access to remove it.

Dear Interplay users, Avid,
Just spend another 2 hours trying to activate Interplay transfer 2017.2.2. An activity that normally does not take more than 10 minutes or so depending on the internet connection.
However the application manager that accommodates the 2017.2.2 version will ungrey the activate button when browsing to a license file but trying to click activate, even by pushing your mouse button through your desk or laptop, does not have any effect. The activate button does not work.
So you think I must have made a mistake when entering, system ID, activation code or device ID... but no. If you use the same activation bin files to activate for example an older 3.6.3 transfer manager, it and the DHM option activate fine.
I got the following error message in Media Composer during the Check In process.
Is it because of media greater than HD? I did have some of that, in DNxHR codec, in my Sequence. The Sequence & Project were HD.
Media not supported because the VCID is dynamic.

Hey all-
Is there any way to tag a few folders as my favorites in the Production Management Window? We are a large network with several productions happening. Every time I start AMC I have to scroll through the entire server tree and open the folders I want, but there are only 3 that I go to every day.
Any way to streamline this that I'm missing?

Been having some issues setting up a Interplay Failover Cluster 2017.2
Having completed WG433 I am pretty confident, however hit several issues along the way.
Following documnetation has been followed to setup the Windows Servers, Adjust DNS Settings prerequisites, and HP MSA 2050 configuration.

I have also been asked to ensure that the domain account NXN user has manually been added to the adminstrators group on both client machines before proceeding with with the interplay 2017.2 installation.
Also it was advised that i use ASDT before proceeding, to clear any failiures.
I was told that ASDT may flag the following but to ignore IPV6 – this should not be disabled on a Cluster node. It may also flag the that the Remote Registry service should be disabled and again this should not be disabled on a cluster node.
Errors i recieved are at the final steps during the interplay cluster 2017.2 installation around 95% onwards.
it fails to
1 - Setup the file server error 5007 (the installer could not add file server IPENG as a dependency to the Avid Workgroup Monitor resource)
2 - The installed could not bring Avid Workgroup Name resource online error 5023
3 - the installer could not assign WG_Database$ to the MyShare Preperty of the file server IPENG Error 5007
4 - The installed could not create the Satabase Share on the Avid Workgroup Disk resource
I have confirmed that i can see the (S:) on the node which i am running the installation from and can read/write to it.
Any advice on this would be appreciated.

I edit a novel where they use Sony f55 cameras and managed through silverstack. We use Glookast to import and Interplay to make master-clips available to publishers. The Bin FPS column is empty, however in the SIlverstack .pdf report, the value is there, 24fps, 60fps etc.
How do I get the fps information to appear in the fps column of the bin?

I'd like to ask if others that have an Interplay system in which they use redundant switches can test a simple scenario.
On an idle activated by the application manager Interplay product, it doesn't matter which, Transcode, production services, Transfer, that is connected by 2 Teamed 1G network connections disconnect the first nic, to simulate a primairy switch failure. Now restart that server. Does the product still activate? If so reconnect the first nic and disconnect the second and restart again.
What I'm seeing is that the application manager for interplay products, just like MC, activates on the basis of 1 MAC address of the 'first' NIC it finds (the one with the lowest ifindex) during activation. If that NIC goes down the product does not activate the next time it is started. But this is such an elementary part of functional redundancy that I can't believe this is actually true.
That the application manager on the MC client side does not support dual NIC teaming for device ID creation from 2 MAC adresses for activation I can deal with, although that should also work IMHO. But on the server's side?

Hope I'm in the right forum for this. I'm currently on a show that the producers will have to work remotely for editing. We've been using Vimeo & emails in the past but this year we'd like to look into a more advanced method.
Read about the MediaCentral but have a couple of questions that couldn't find the answers on the website and hope someone could share some insight.
We're currently on Media Composer 8.9.4. Would MediaCentral work with that?
Our media server is Editshare based. Does MediaCentral require any (Nexis) hardware to work or just a matter of setting up a software?
We basically just need a web interface for the producers to look at our cuts and give notes. If anyone could share some experience with it that'd be awesome.

I need some help understanding Avid Interplay and Avid Media Central and can't seem to find easily understandable documentation that goes a little deeper than just telling me that it's "exciting" and "fast" and "easy".
The production company where I work is working with 32TB of ISIS storage and 6 Media Composers. We're mostly editing documentaries and other non fictional formats, that rely on tons of archival footage. Since we often need certain archival footage in various documentaries we were thinking that having a kind of searchable archive with every bit of archival (i.e. historic) footage that we've aquired over the years would be a huge time saver.
At the moment our system is pretty flawed. For example, if we're looking for footage of Berlin in the early 90s, we rely on our boss knowing, that we used a couple of shots of Berlin in the early 90s in a certain project, we then recover that project from external HDDs (were we archived the whole project to at some point in the past), consolidate the shots we need to our ISIS into the project we're currently working on. We still try our best to tag footage in the comments collum and populate every clip with custom meta data as well, but if you don't know what project you have to look in for that certain clip and meta data, you won't be able to find it.
When I saw a couple of videos about Media Central, and that it offers search capabilites across projects I thought this could help us in a big way. Does Media Central offer the capability to search for custom meta data that I put into custom collums in Media Composer?
While trying to educate myself about Media Central I learned, that parts of it at least only seem to work with interplay (or that interplay is about to be rebranded Media Central Production?), which brings me to my next question: What exactly is interplay and what does it do...?
Since I tried to learn more about Media Central I found out that it only seems to work with Nexus storage. However buying Nexus storage just to archive old projects to and thus having a searchable archive is probably too expensive for my boss. I can't find any information about pricing on Nexus Near Line, which I read also works with Media Central.
While looking at other companies that offer avid compatible network attached storage I found Object Matrix. They claim, that their MatrixStore Storage works with Media Central... but only with interplay? I guess this is a question that I have to direct to the people at Object Matrix, but in order to understand I guess I have to understand what Interplay and Media Central essentially are first.
So any help you guys could give me and/or any documentation you could point me to would be greatly appreciated!

We have a full backup of a v3.5 Interplay database and are intending to use the restore tool to load it into a new IP Engine. However, this IP Engine is running v2017.2. We're aware Avid's official stance would be to move it down to v3.5 and then do the upgrade, but we are also receiving advice it should be fine without doing this.
Does anyone have any experience doing it this way?

While the Airspeed multistreams are end of support for almost 2years now and I would love to see them all replaced with new airspeed 5500 or the new fastserve... there are still a few out there.
Recently got a request to help changing some settings and as I have some time to spare (nice for once) decided to see if I could help.
But after a few minutes I encountered a familiar problem for which I can't remember, even after 3-4 hours, the solution and google also does not find an article in the knowledgebase that has the solution.
On the multistream units the record templates, destination templates and default templates are all set through the interplay framework service configuration. But whatever I try, also when I copy a template and rename it, the codec, bitrate, bitrade mode, gop structure selection pull down menu's stay greyed out, like the new button. In the install manual the picture in the chapter of setting up the template shows the exact same thing.
As I have set these up in the past I remember there was something 'not obvious' but I simply can't remember...
Anyone that can unblock my memory?
Looking to upgrade a client to 2018.11 Interplay. On my test system I was unable to install web serverices via the autorun, when I went looking in the installers folder I couldn't find it.
Is this a mistake in the installer package or am I missing something.

Hi Team,
I tested to history funtion on Interplay Access 3.8.1.
The old office file formats(Doc, Xls, ppt) controlled history and rollback fuctions.
But New formats(Docx, Xlsx, pptx) are not history function.
Please, check this.
